Post traumatic stress disorderHow might Post Traumatic Stress Disorder be dealt with effectively.

Most of us have experienced stress at some point and quite a few people genuinely feel stressed regularly. The severity of the stress will largely depend upon the circumstance and how the person handles it. Sadly, the after effects of specific stressful events can become overwhelming and hard to cope with. These overwhelming experiences can then be re-activated by day to day circumstances, leading to problems with everyday life. While the idea of a natural childbirth is very appealing to pregnant mums it is often the thought of pain that prevents it actually occurring. Even though all women believe that some level of pain is a part of childbirth occasionally a wave of intense pain whilst in labour can undo all the preparation the woman has made.

Pregnant women will generally have deep rooted fears concerning the pain during labour. It could be that the pain sensation is of such intensity that it simply keeps her from being focused on the actions of childbirth and upsetting her ability to stop worrying and focus.

Pain is certainly a subjective experience, and each person has their own tolerance and attitude towards it. The psychological, physical and mental strain of childbirth can be so overwhelming that it prevents the mother from relaxing. As the tension, pain and stress increase so does the level of anxiety.

Anxiety increases the intensity of the birth experience, making it a whole lot more uncomfortable and terrifying. The natural childbirth experience can then be a vicious cycle of what seems to be endless pain and worry so it is no wonder that woman experiencing this are unable to pay attention on the proper respiration, relaxation and pushing techniques that are the building blocks for natural childbirth.

A woman who is unable to relax and focus is likely to have an extremely hard time managing pain.

nail bitingThe nail biting affliction can be solved with hypnotherapy techniques.

Typically people believe that nail biting is truly an unattractive and uncomfortable habit. Lots of people bite their nails in their school years then stop during the later years of growing up. An unfortunate few maintain this habit into adulthood causing actual injury to their fingers: using it as a crutch to manage anxiety attacks or other underlying problems. Hypnotherapy techniques are typically used to help people recover from this destructive behavioural pattern.

So what exactly is a problem behaviour?

A habit is defined as being a pattern of behaviour which is chronic and customarily subconscious. It’s something we gain by regularly repeating a certain behaviour. The very nature of a habit is that it is effortless to get into but very hard to escape. What makes a habit a bad one is whenever it’s mentally or psychologically detrimental to us for some reason.
