Should childhood phobias be resolved at an early age?

June 16, 2015 by Sally Moore

phobiaShould phobias in children be remedied early?

Phobias are an unreasonable and undue fear of an event or object. Someone who suffers from a phobic anxiety undergoes extreme fear when they are confronted by particular objects, wildlife or eventualities These feelings and experiences can lead a person to isolation, depression and panic attacks Individuals that suffer from a fear of spiders have an overwhelming and debilitating fear if and when they come into contact with any form of spider.

Phobias can appear at a young age and keep going for a lifetime. Phobias can be a learned behaviour from a parent or sibling or arise because of a given incident or trauma at an early age (e.g. having a spider in the hair). All children have some fears and anxiety for instance stranger danger, separation anxiety and being scared of the boogie man. All of these are a normal component of our development and will almost certainly appear and disappear. If these fears don’t dissipate but actually escalate it is very important for a parent to monitor these anxieties so they don’t become an issue in later life.

Hypnosis Will Help To Organise Your Life

June 9, 2015 by Sally Moore

Hypnosis to organiseIn a muddle? Get prepared with hypnosis!

If somebody is disorganised it can have a negative impact on plenty of elements of their life because of the stress it can cause. So by making use of hypnosis you can be more relaxed and more effective at being organised.

Everyone has a limit to the number of jobs and events we can juggle, and every now and then it’s easy for the stress of being disorganised to spiral out of control. Maybe you’re planning a wedding, moving home or even changing career? Or are you offending the people around you by not having the time to pay them any attention or forgetting anniversaries and birthdays?

Being disorganised can be upsetting in itself, hence creating a vicious circle which can be very tough to get out of. Being disorganised causes us to be stressed which then causes us to find it so much more difficult to organise ourselves. Thus the matter is generally not the fact that we are struggling to be organised, but the fact that we feel anxious and not capable of being organised.

Drug driving limits now apply in the UK

May 27, 2015 by Sally Moore

drug drivingThe Law has changed and drug driving rules now apply in the United Kingdom.

As motorists in Great Britain have become used to ensuring that we have seat belts on, of vehicles MOT’d and covered with insurance and taxed. Once on the road, failure to stick to the speed limit is now quickly becoming socially unacceptable in a similar way that driving drunk went from ‘normal’ to being understood as bad and socially not acceptable.

From 2 March 2015, the police could very well also prosecute you if you have illegal drugs in your system for example, cocaine, heroin and diamorphine, methyl amphetamine and cannabis, but also, there are a range of prescribed medicines that may be tested for at the roadside. Kwik-Fit insurance services asked 1028 adults to explain what the new legal drug-drive controls were. It was not a surprise that not one person was able to answer or explain the new controls. Lorazepam (anti-anxiety), Diazepam (an anti-anxiety drug), Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol – sedative), Clonazepam (which is used to treat seizures and panic attacks), Temazepam (anti-anxiety and sedative) and Oxazepam (anti-anxiety) are just a few of the more common prescription drugs.
